The midfield played like shit, were getting their asses handed to them most of the game. Passing was sloppy and they were always a step late.

Yep, Germany looked terrible in the first half. Sloppy, late, inaccurate and vulnerable. Really shocked at how slow the back line was. Algeria easily could have scored two if not for the heroic efforts of the German goalie. That guy single handedly kept the Germans in the game.

Yeah, the Algerian net minder definitely did good and frustrated Germany for 90+ minutes. But Neuer for Germany was ridiculous. The German back line was a hot mess, and Neuer repeatedly had to rush out onto the field and make huge defensive plays as a field player. I can't recall ever seeing a goalie out like that in a World Cup match.
